About the eye bank : Acknowledgement

Very fondly and in all humility we acknowledge the help rendered by friends in one of the most difficult project we embarked on five years back. This steep up-climb was possible only with the teamwork of these friends. We are obligated to these well meaning persons who are sensitive to the cause of eye banking.

Today, we pride ourselves on drushti daan making a mark for itself in the eye-banking scenario of Orissa.

Hospitals :

We are thankful to Dr Sidhanta Kar, Director of Kar clinic and Hospitals whose ready willingness gave birth to drushti daan eye bank at Kar Clinic in Bhubaneswar. We worked here for five years.

We are grateful to Dr. S.T. Muralidhar who was the Hony. Medical director, during this period. He gave his whole hearted support and services to drushtidaan.

L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar executed an MOU with drushti daan on 3rd April 07. This enabled drushti daan to shift its operations to their premises to function as a community eye bank. Thus opening a new and beautiful chapter for drushti daan. Our gratitude to Dr G. N. Rao, Dr. T. P. Das, Dr. Usha Gopinathan and Dr. Paul Dubord, Founder, Eyesight International, Canada, for their support.

HCRP (Hospital cornea retrieval program) :

The First HCRP was launched in Kalinga hospital and this program is successful. We are very grateful to the Management of Kalinga Hospital.

In May 2007 the Department of Health & family welfare, Government of Orissa, helped us to start off drushti daan’s Eye Donation Counselling Centre at the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar to facilitate the HCRP. We grateful to the Department and the CMO of the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.

Mobile Eye Clinic :

Our sincere thanks to the Rotary Community Services and the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar for having donated a van which is being used as a mobile eye clinic and also for awareness purposes.
